Lighthouse Christian Fellowship
Freeport Area House Church Assembly

About Lighthouse Christian Fellowship

We have open meetings with everyone participating.  We sing praises to Jesus and seek to build one another up in love.  Everyone is important.  We read the Bible together, and discuss it in an informal way.  Anyone who wants to participate joins in the reading and discussion.  We advocate open worship through active participation.  We Believe when people are forbidden audible, public worship, they and God are both robbed of a rich and intimate experience.

We believe traditional services, in which all communication is pre-planned and centralized prevents believers from sharing fully in each other's lives and in the life of the congregation. We follow the pattern in The Book of Acts where it teaches that they regularly worshiped together in small groups in homes.

We are an apostolic assembly “apostolic" explains who we are. It means that we believe, and contend for truths the original church held (Jude 3). We hold to the Apostles doctrine (Acts 2:42) established on the Day of Pentecost.  Due to post-Apostolic creeds and councils of men, the state church of the middle ages, and various Protestant distortions, vital truths have been obscured.

We currently gather every Tuesday evening at 7pm, as well as the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 6pm.    We sincerely hope you will join us.

Our Vision Statement

Lighthouse Christian Fellowship is dedicated to the establishing of a first-century style network of small group ministries throughout Freeport, and the surrounding communities. Our goal is to recover the first century Christian mindset of the priesthood of all believers, as well as returning to the practices of the early church. We will establish (through small groups) an ongoing process to equip all God’s people for the work of ministry until all believers begin functioning in unity as the body of Christ is in submission to the Head, Jesus Christ.

Our Goals

That Each Member Would Grow In Their Relationship With God

That Each Member Would Grow In Their Personal Christian Character

That Each Member Would Grow In Their Relationship With The Other Members

That Each Member Would Identify Their Gifts and Find Their Place of Service (Ministry)

That The Groups Would Grow Numerically and Multiply Into Another Group

The Early Church & The Church of Today

"The church as we know it today seems a million miles from the New Testament church. That may be a great generalization, but I will stand on it. There is a gulf between our average Christianity and the church of New Testament that makes the Grand Canyon look like a cavity in someone's tooth." Leonard Ravenhill

If you look at the two diagrams above you can see two vastly different pictures of the church meeting. We at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship are on a journey to return to Christianity of the Apostles, which is very different from what most assemblies look like and practice in 21st century America. We would love for you and your family to join us as we seek to follow God in Spirit and Truth.

Acts 2:46 “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart”
